Between the Gulf of Riga and the river Lielupe lie over 25 miles of sands. Only three minutes from the capital by train, Jurmala has always been the playground of the city dwellers, for its white sands, sea and surf, as well as its mineral springs and curative mud, used in healing and beauty treatments. Visitors can enjoy every possible water sport, seek out a select cove or live it up in the numerous night spots or casinos. This is also the site of the biggest aqua park in Europe and two major nature parks, with well-established eco-trails.
To ride the crest of the wave of property development, you cannot do better than take a walk along the Jomas Street Promenade, running through the centre of town, where you will eventually see everybody who is anybody.
